Omar first met Bill, Brian, and JR through youth events in the Episcopal Diocese of Southwest Florida. In the summer of 2005, he sat in on drums during Summer Camp. Later on that summer, His Word was in need of someone to fill in on drums for a couple of concerts. They contacted Omar, and he accepted the challenge of learning all their songs in only one week. His Word was lucky to find such a talented drummer, and though Omar was only filling in, he is now part of the His Word family.
